Christmas Vacation to Temecula!

The Kids on a RockFor the second year in a row, we packed up the green bullet, got the kids situated, and drove out to California while they slept. We spent a week with our good friends the Bramhalls, during which we had a wonderful time with our two families together.

There are (of course) a bunch of photos in the gallery, mostly of the time we spent hiking and at the beach. Silly us, we forgot to bring our cameras to Legoland.

One of the high points for me, and certainly the best New Year’s Eve I’d had in a while, was an opportunity to see the Flaming Lips perform live in downtown Los Angeles. There’s nothing quite like watching Wayne Coyne count down to the new year, followed by an explosion of sound, music, and balloons quite unlike anything I’ve ever seen.

I found this review of the concert we attended, which sums it up pretty nicely.

This doesn’t quite do it justice, but you can get an idea of what it was like from the video below. (I didn’t take this video. I just found it on You Tube.)

Phoenix Trip

Sunset over PhoenixLast weekend, with stomachs still bulging from Daniele’s delicious turkey, we piled into the green bullet and broke the sound barrier all the way to Phoenix, Arizona. We spent the weekend with our good friends and came back refreshed and ready for an exciting holiday season. As always, there are some photos in the gallery.

Memorial Day in Phoenix

Photo of our two families sitting togetherTo celebrate Memorial Day this year, we loaded all six of us into the minivan and trucked it on down to Phoenix for some sun and fun with our good friends from California. Of course, Daniele and I had our cameras in hand, and there’s a boatload of photos in the gallery for your perusal.
