Here’s a picture of my Yahoo inbox. Note the last message is sent from “Virus,” which made me laugh.

Vent

I decided, nearly a year ago, that I was going to start using an Apple Macintosh computer as my primary computer at work so that I would have an unbiased perspective and broaden my horizons to include a new platform.

After several months of use, I can now say—with authority—that “it just works” is a load of crap.

I’m going back to Windows. That is all.

Boxing Myself 30 Ways

The more I use 30 Boxes, the more I like it. Sure, it’s a remarkably stable calendar, and that’s worth the price of admission alone, but it’s much more than that. For example, it’s pretty easy to syndicate content from my calendar to any website.

For instance, you can go here to see a complete schedule of my kids’ soccer games, and that’s pretty cool by itself. However, there’s more:

That’s just scratching the tip of the iceberg. Thanks to SMS reminders, I get a message sent to my cellphone an hour before each game. Plus, if you want to know what I’m up to, you can always check out my buddy page and find out. If you decide to give it a try, let me know, and I may even be able to point you to some useful resources.

Kororaa LiveCD

So I was reading some geekery of one kind or another (I honestly don’t remember what), when I found out about the Kororaa project and the LiveCD they have available for download. I downloaded the ISO file, burned it to a CD, and all I can say is wow. This is basically a proof-of-concept LiveCD that proves that a fully OpenGL powered windowing environment is not only possible, but it can perform like a champ.

If you have the opportunity, check it out. It’s gorgeous.
